To Val's top five cooking methods to gross out an Italian....
Number 5.....Try to make a recipe "low-fat".  The Mediterranean diet is pretty much healthy as is.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Number 4...Serve a spaghetti sauce (homemade or other wise) where the proportion of sugar or other sweetener is higher than that of salt....This is NOT to say you should empty the contents of your salt shaker into your sauce,  only that a sweetener is pretty much unneccesary.
Number 3...Omit garlic from any recipe..with the possible exception of dessert items LOL   ( please see disclaimer at the bottom of page 1)
Number 2...Use cottage cheese in any Italian recipe!!!
..And the number one way to gross out an Italian isss....
